Engineering Administrative Assistant / Configuration Management Specialist

Job Summary

Position will work with our Engineering team to carry out specific tasks that are vital to the production, sales and engineering departments. Additional duties as Configuration Management Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Engineering Program Manager and is responsible for performing administrative duties for the Configuration Management team in support of production, sales, customer & product support, and engineering departments.

Requirements

Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:

  • Perform a variety of administrative activities in support of Engineering, Manufacturing/Configuration Management
  • Provide support for meetings, activities, and managers as directed
  • Being the liaison with draft persons / engineers to gather product information, requirements and design specifications for our customers
  • Works with customers, engineers and other departments to communicate needs and help with processes throughout the company
  • Identify potential operational issues to improve efficiencies
  • Help create processes and manuals that will aid in production, sales, customer & product support, and engineering
  • Communicate with customers to obtain information and provide schedule completion for requests and projects
  • Update and share engineering schedule with customers and other team members
  • Enter Bills of Material and Engineering Change Orders into our MRP software systems
  • Update files and maintain consistency with engineering records and part drawings
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes and process orders
  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
  • Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled
  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner
  • Act as a point of contact for the Configuration Management team
  • Perform daily Configuration Management tasks
  • Assist in generating Engineering packets for Manufacturing Engineers
  • Respond to and resolve questions, concerns, and requests for information
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
  • Project coordination with Product Support Group and Applications Development Engineers to accomplish project tasks
  • Support Management functions to ensure compliance to airworthiness standards and best practices for configuration and data management
  • Responsible for the support of the setup and maintenance of the AVANTE MRP System Item Master
  • Includes the maintenance and/or Engineering Change Orders and Bill of Materials
  • Communicate ECO dispositions for parts in stock, in WIP, in field, etc.
  • Provide support to Purchasing and Vendors to assist with product procurement process
  • Support Sales & Business Development functions by preparing technical presentations and/or demos as required
  • Coordinate with Product Support & STC/Kit Applications Development Engineers on new opportunities requiring engineering/ application development
  • Available for travel to perform all job requirements
  • Approximately 10% domestic and international travel required
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
  • Ability to compile source data and draft Aircraft Application Software user guides and compile into HTML format using Robo Help editor software
  • Ability to confidently use all Honeywell HUMS (portable GSE and On-Board systems), Sky Connect SATCOM, and Aspire IFE products to assist with software testing and system evaluations as required
  • Review design options with customers and/or consultants and contractors
  • Prepare and update general operating manuals, process quality control procedures, and training materials
  • Ability to use CAD software (Autodesk) to create and update drawings for existing and new products
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio
  • Strong working knowledge of SLACK, TRELLO (Kanban system) or similar Program Management software applications
  • Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License
  • Knowledge of avionics design and electrical engineering practices
  • Develop intimate knowledge of health monitoring products, customers, and competition
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position
  • Knowledge or manufacturing operations work flow and practices
  • Be able to create and update drawings using Autodesk CAD designer software
  • U.S. Person status required due to export control
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing drawings, specifications and engineering requirements
  • Detail oriented, systematic, and accurate

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software

Education Level

Degree in business, engineering or related field preferred; or equivalent experience in a technical related field.
