Job Summary

  • Manage Manufacturing, Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Service Departments
  • Provide corrective actions and tactics when performance is below targets and expectations
  • Maintain safe workplace for team members
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Government regulations, Quality certifications (AS9100, ISO, and FAA) and Company policy, ethics and core values
  • Achieve Company metrics for on-time delivery (OTD), inventory reduction, cost reduction and Customer returns
  • Talent management: ensure a high performing team by developing, coaching, goal setting, and appropriately managing less than expected performance
  • Ensure developmental objectives are assigned and executed to develop talent and drive performance across the team. Manages succession planning for key roles.

Job: Operations Manager & Global Planner

Primary Location: CA-Ontario

Operations; Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse Functions

  • Manage and drive improvements in all phases of operations
  • Manage purchasing functions ensuring parts arrive just in time to fulfill Customer orders and meet inventory reduction goals
  • Review parts cost on a regular basis to achieve cost reduction goals
  • Perform planning and scheduling functions to ensure Customer orders meet the commitment dates and achieve standard lead times
  • Effectively coordinate with Customer Service to properly understand order requirements
  • Support Customer Service to assist with review of Customer purchase order terms and conditions, as required
  • Oversee all warehouse functions and inventory inspection processes to include completion of First Article Inspections, Acceptance Test Procedures and any other required documentation
  • Coordinate with the Quality department to report and resolve any issues with parts received, or manufactured
  • Responsible to ensure all inventory operations and procedures are followed to include inventory cycle counts, inventory turns, organization, shelf-life parts, min/max usage, traceability

Service (Repairs & Calibration)

  • Manage Repair Coordinator, Repair Operations and Technicians
  • Oversee repair process and planning to receive, process and ship repairs to meet customer commitments
  • Coordinate with purchasing on repair parts not in stock to complete repairs
  • Report to Quality if there are any issues with parts or process during repair
  • Maintain customer equipment and part traceability throughout the process

Manufacturing (Assembly)

  • Oversee Manufacturing and Assembly
  • Manage Assemblers and ensure proper training standards are met
  • Report to Engineering and/or Quality if there are any issues with work orders during assembly
  • Plan workloads and resolve any unforeseen part shortages during assembly

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years in Operations Lead/Manager Role in Aerospace Operations
  • Minimum 5 years of leading teams
